A latch problem may start below the door
When rollers wear down, the panel can sit lower. That small change can make the latch miss the keeper even if the handle still works.
Do not replace hardware before checking alignment
If the door only locks when you lift it, the hardware may not be the only issue. Alignment and roller height should be checked.
